a little more vitoria color...

I´ve been living on lists lately... so why mess up a good thing...

1. Philadelphia- I´m off to "mi pueblo" (Spanish joke) for a few weeks and won´t be around. I´ll be posting some Philly snaps on Flickr. That´s the plan anyway...
2. Corner View- The lovely Dana will be hosting Corner View while I´m gone. Thanks again Dana!
3. Bagels- My first meal when getting home is a sesame bagel with cream cheese, tomato, and white fish salad... What´s "white fish salad"? One of those things that is so delicious, but better off not knowing what it is exactly...
4. 5:00 am- When I get up because of the time difference. The best time to catch up with back issues of Architectual Digest, W Magazine, and Rowan Knitting Magazine (don´t laugh at me Vanessa!). Just realized that these three magazines basically sum up my stepmother. Yes, she´s pretty cool!
5. Mochachino- My coffee of choice.
6. Barnes and Noble- Where you can find me camped out in the cookbook section.
7. Pentax K7- Playing with my new camera. Sorry to all you NFN (Nutty for Nikon) people, but I´m sticking with my Pentax... Hey someone has to...
8. Thank you- (Don´t say it nearly enough.) Thank you for all your (funny, kind, generous, inspiring, inquisitive- to name a few) comments and emails. As JGY eloquently put it - you are a group of "beautiful spirits." And I couldn´t agree more!
9. I´ll miss you!
10. ¡Dos besos muy gordos!

P.S. I´m thinking of getting The Coco a little lifting around the mouth... What do you think?

sunday...

We had a lazy morning, followed by lunch at out favorite Indian restaurant, and a walkabout through town. Now I´m trying to convince Jorge that a film on iTunes would be more fun to watch than the Formula One... Wish me luck...

kiss and tell friday

(We´ve had two days of autumn and have gone straight to winter... We lit the fireplace for the first time last night...Look Aimee fuzzy socks!)

What are you looking forward to?

I have two trips coming up. I´m going home to Philadelphia next week, (yes, after living in Spain for umpteen years, I still call Philly my home.) and I´m going to Egypt at the end of December. I already have my bags packed, and have been sitting by the front door with my coat and my umbrella. (Just like Berta´s Auntie does...)

corner view "love"

This week´s theme comes from Jodi and is "love". I thought I´d go outside the box and post about a poem that I love, about love. I know it´s a stretch, but they say Shakespeare hung out with Cervantes for a time. So you see I can tie this to Spain... Enjoy.

Sonnet 29 (please clic)

Next week´s theme comes from the lovely Kay and is "My Dream". Trinsch do you mind going next? Thanks!

what happens when you get a bunch of spaniards together?

There are usually bulls involved...

(Francisco Marco)

Don´t you think bullfighters have the nicest... capes...?

P.S. No bulls were harmed in the making of this post... ¡Besos!

What is something you do that makes you a happier person?

I´ve stopped watching the news. I live in ignorant bliss. OK, I do occasionally listen to NPR (public radio) just to make sure California is still where it´s suppose to be...

P.S. That was a great CV. I love learning more about all the places I´m going to visit some day!...( I´m still making my way around the world...) Thank you!

¡Dos besos!

corner view "souvenir"

This week´s theme comes from the lovely Epe and is typical souvenirs from your corner. So I bring you my friends "El Caminante" (The Walker). It is the most popular meeting place in Vitoria. Some of my friends call it "Cojones" as in "¡Cojones! ¿QuĂ© es eso?" Roughly translated it means "¡Caramba! What is that?"... As you can see, he is sporting a lovely yellow and lime green ensemble. People like to dress him up... I have no idea who... or why... but I love their sense of humor...
So how about if we meet at the caminante? You name the time.

Next week´s theme comes all the way from Maine and it´s from Jodi. She had the idea of "love".

I´m up to my wimple in sewing. So i´m going to be a little late visiting you. And thank you again for all your sweet comments. They really make my day, especially when I´m in a total panic thinking I´m never going to finish...

¡Dos besos muy gordos!

the scenic route...

Jorge and I left the house with a map of northern Spain, a GPS, and written directions that a friend had emailed me. We still managed to get lost. So between veo veo (spanish kid´s game... hey- we can play too), Bruce Springsteen (I needed a little pick me up), a billion km of winding roads (it was only like a cm long on the map...), and me threatening to throw up in Jorge´s lap (his fault we got lost)... I shot some photos... We made it and we were only an hour late.... We are definitely getting better...

One of your secrets.

I can´t spell S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y. I always have to think if it´s E-R or U-R. Now doesn´t E-R make more sense?...

Have a great weekend!

next week´s cv theme

Thanks again everyone for a great Corner View! Your creativity overwhelms!

I forgot to post a theme for next week, so thank goodness Epe, one of my favorite photography gurus, thought one up so quickly.

So next week´s theme is `¨typical souvenir of your city¨(because each city has its own typical souvenirs´

¡Thanks Epe!

¡Dos besos muy gordos!

I knew a girl who was blue. So she painted her world pink. xoxo
